Yes! You Need Yoga!

“I can’t do yoga! I have a hard time being still and I am not flexible,” say the people who need it the most. If I could, I would shout from the rooftops that everyone can benefit from yoga and needs it in their lives in some fashion. Those who believe they cannot be still need it the most and we all have the ability to become more flexible, stronger and relaxed. The young, the old, the moms, the dads, anyone who is happy, sad, stressed, calm, thinks they are perfectly fine or a total mess, we all can benefit from the practice of yoga.

It is called a practice because one time may make a difference for a short while, but we lose that relaxed feeling or the pose that made us feel empowered for the moment, those words we heard at the end are forgotten too soon. “What did she say again while I was lying in Savasana that was so meaningful?” It is a practice in learning to sit with the self and go inward. It is a practice to become strong, flexible and challenged if that is what you are looking to accomplish. It is a practice to listen to our body and mind without harming ourselves physically and mentally. It is a practice to know our true self as we are growing, holding space for others to flourish and searching for enlightenment. It is a practice though we will never be perfect, we can be perfectly content and thriving.

Find the yoga practice that is right for you by experimenting with different classes. You may find the one you were dreading the most becomes the one you needed most.
